Segovia draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings – community, inanimate objects, personal history, relationships and repetition. Through her art she elevates the unnoticed and overlooked by bringing more attention to the beauty and history that these tangible moments hold and represent.

Each piece is a one of one and created by using the techniques of Polaroid emulsion lifts and drawing. Each art piece depicts a family photo that I chose after seeing and hearing about them for the first time in my life. The line drawings are of my family’s cars which are depicted in the photos. Cars have always been and always will be a way for me to connect with my roots.
